Project #3

finished my 3rd (And final) ravelympics project. A pair of Alice Mitts for Gaily.

used size 8, 9-inch circulars and the micheal's brand worsted yarn, Loops and Threads in Fresh Lilac.

kae took the pictures of me wearing them. i made the small size instead of mediums like with the Earth and Sky ones, turned out much better, they're actually really cozy. I've yet to make myself a pair /sigh

Event #2

I finished my Short Track Shawl
Actually, i finished it at knit night on wednesday. i'm just now getting around to it

I used a Lion Brand pattern (the Easy Triangle Shawl 60301) and the suggested yarn, Lion Brand Homspun in Barrington - it's sorta purple-y with the suggested needle size 13.

it was a really REALLY easy pattern, i had the repeats memorized by the second one, and it started to get boring around then. How sad am i?

i stopped at 9 repeats instead of 10, it was just getting huge and i don't need huge. i also didn't do the crochet bind off, because it looked complicated, it was midnight, and i wanted to get it finished so i could go to bed and not have to think about it anymore!

it's not blocked, because homespun is a P.I.T.A to block.

The Olympics

Once upon a time men competed (naked might i add) in the Olympics to prove they were the best the known world had to offer. Gradually things changed to where they are now. at least they're clothed.

I'm probably not going to watch much of the actual Olympics, mostly because i'll probably forget.

But the Cast on for the Ravelympics is tonight. I've got my pattern and my yarn all ready to go, my interchangeable needles are all set up to start.

And then when helping a friend go through BAGS AND BAGS of Vintage (*cough old cough*) yarn i was given the skeins of grey and cherry red red heart. So now i can cast on a scarf for the Special Olympics too! Donated yarn for a charity project, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

So two projects for Team Twilight in the Ravelympics. One scarf for a kick-ass athlete in the Special Olympics, Maybe even a pair of Fingerless gloves for my friend who donated the yarn.

9pm EST for Cast on and i have until February 28th to finish. I'm golden =D

Handbags for Haiti

Two weeks ago Jordana Paige sold off all her "imperfect" bags, with 100% (not including shipping) going to Doctors Without Borders.

I talked my hubs into letting me get a bag, i set the alarm on my cell phone to go off 5 til the hour so i could check the facebook feed to see which bag was coming up next. And when the eggplant Rio came up I busted butt to get through the shopping cart.

They sold out in less than 3 minutes. Shock!!!

BUT! OMG I GOT ONE!! considering the standard price for these bags, even in it's "imperfect" condition, it was worth it. And really, now that it's here, the only thing wrong with the bag is that it was missing the little zippy pouch for notions and such (i ordered one in grey just in case, can never have too many notions pouches!)

I love it, it's perfect, it's purple, it's got plenty of space, and now i have a "real" official knitting bag! /dance

yay =D
